
Lee was born Thomas Lee Bass on October 3rd, 1962 in Athens, Greece, to father David Lee Thomas Bass, an American U.S. Army sergeant, as well as mother Vassiliki "Voula" Papadimitriou (Greek: Basilike Papademetriou), an actress on the 1957 Miss Greece beauty contest. He is the younger brother of Athena, who is also drummer. Lee was two years old when his father moved his family to California. He also got his first drumsticks when he turned four and his first real drum set when he turned 16. In order to pursue a career as a musician, he dropped out of high school and joined the L.A. nightclub band Suite 19. 5 He was a young man who enjoyed listening to Van Halen and Led Zeppelin as well as Kiss, AC/DC, Cheap Trick, Kiss and Led Zeppelin. His primary drumming influences include John Bonham, Tommy Aldridge, Alex Van Halen and Terry Bozzio
