Anita Saarkessian
Anita Sarkeesian was born in Canada but grew up in the U.S. She has worked as an editor since the year 1995. She founded Feminist Frequency which is a website that features videos and comments on the representations of women in pop culture. Anita Sarkeesian a Canadian American media critic. She is the creator and director of executive for Feminist Frequency A scholarly not-for-profit website which explores representations of women in pop media narratives. Committed to destroying the stereotypes related to women in popular culture, she also works to address issues relating to targeted harassment women and different classes of individuals on the internet. Sarkeesian, who holds the degree of Master's in the field of Social and Political thought at York University, is a popular public speaking. She has spoken at the TEDxWomen festival as well as United Nations Broadband Working Group to Gender. Feminist Frequency was founded on the 9th of September 2009 by Sarkeesian, university student who has been involved in topics related to gender and feminism for quite a lengthy time. She had a plan to start an internet-based program that would examine the role of gender in games but was the target of an online harassment campaign. It was not enough to deter her. Instead, it increased her importance as a feminist and media critic. Her many notable contributions in the field of feminists have been recognized by numerous awards. Anita Sarkeesian was a multi-award winner for her work as a journalist. She also serves as the creator and director of Feminist Frequency an educational non-profit organisation that studies pop culture depictions of women.
